We also work with activity-based costing, Lean and Six Sigma, governance, risk and compliance, and quality management. We define what you store and how it is described (the metadata), build the workflows, set up the structure, and integrate with CRM, ERP and other systems. M‑Files then works from Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and we start with the documents that cause the most trouble, often as a pilot. ### The technical work We install the software and handle upgrades, integration and API work, and script programming. How long it takes depends on how many kinds of documents, workflows and integrations are in scope, and we agree the timeline with you at the start. 1. ### Scope Together We go through the documents or processes that cause trouble today, who uses them and where it goes wrong, and agree what goes in first and what the business case rests on. 2. ### Define and set up Our consultants Metadata, objects and workflows are defined with you and the structure is set up. Where you need it, M‑Files is integrated with your CRM, ERP or other systems, and we install and script what the set-up requires. 3. ### Bring the documents in Together Existing files can stay in network folders or SharePoint Online and be shown through connectors, or be moved in. It depends on how many kinds of documents and workflows go in, which systems M‑Files is connected to, and whether existing files are moved in or shown through connectors. We agree the timeline when we scope the project. We can start quickly with a pilot for one kind of document, so the first people are working in M‑Files while the rest is planned. Can you support an M‑Files system you did not implement? Yes. Targeted improvements to what you already run are part of our work: upgrades, integration and API work, script programming, new views and workflows, and support under an agreed SLA. We start by going through what goes wrong today, the same way we would on a new implementation. Do you train our people? Yes. Training and e-learning for the people who will work in the system are part of a project, delivered before go-live. The aim is that most people need no manual: they search for what they need, or open a process and find their own part in it. Can M‑Files be integrated with our CRM or ERP? Yes. Lists such as customers, suppliers and employees can be kept in sync with an external database, so a document is filed under the same customer your ERP knows, and connectors show content from network folders and SharePoint Online inside M‑Files without moving it.
